This message is from Tom Doggett at the Energy Information Administration:

Subject: ADVISORY: Earn Energy or Nuclear Science merit badge at EIA's Annual Scout Day, Registration begins Monday, Sept. 26

U.S. Energy Information Administration's 5th Annual Scout Day

Earn an Energy or Nuclear Science merit badge

Please let the troops in your district know that online registration begins Monday, Sept. 26, at 4:30 p.m. for the U.S. Energy Information Administration's annual Scout Day, where scouts can earn either the Energy or Nuclear Science merit badge. This is a great opportunity for scouts to earn a STEM-related merit badge.

Scouts can get more details about the event and register at: http://www.eia.gov/kids/activities/meritbadge/

EIA Scout Day will be held on Saturday, Nov. 5, from 9:30 am to 1 p.m. at the U.S. Department of Energy headquarters building (located across from the Smithsonian Castle on the National Mall)  in downtown Washington, D.C.

There are 50 slots for Boy Scouts and 50 slots for Girl Scouts.

This event is very popular and the spaces fill up fast.

In addition to sharing this advisory with your member troops, please update the calendar on your district's website with the Sept. 26 online registration date and the Nov. 5 event date.

Many thanks-Tom Doggett
