Scouting for Food

posted Nov 8, 2016, 7:10 PM by Lynn Hamilton
BIG WEEK COMING UP!  Saturday November 12th is the BIG DAY as we collect food for various local food banks.  Our goal this year is 34,000 pounds and I'm sure we can make it with YOUR HELP!  Please get out there and collect bags and get them into the collection points below.  If you have any questions/concerns, please contact Phil Dennis (contact info below)

On our district Scouting For Food Web Page, you will find a clickable Google Map.  Clicking on an area will show the unit that will be distributing bags and collecting food for that area.  If you want to expand your unit's area, please let Phil know and we can have the map updated.  If your unit is not listed, please get in touch with Phil and he will work with you on outlining the area and update the map.  Please see for more information.

Each unit is responsible for reporting the amount of food collected to our council.  To help with this effort, at the Safeway and Quince Orchard High School drop points, WE WILL COUNT OF THE NUMBER OF BAGS DROPPED OFF FOR YOU.  If your unit delivers food to a place other than the two locations below (which are delivered to Manna), then please provide an email to Phil Dennis with either the number of bags or total weight of food collected.

You can self-report your results to our council if you desire.
Report total weight collected by your unit after food is collected.
Login to and report your unit’s total weight collected.
Note that this is reported in weight not bags collected, weight can be estimated at about 5 pounds per bag.

Report your service hours (as you should for all service work) at

Units start collecting at 9 a.m. on Saturday November 14th 2015
