Our first Lion Pilot training is scheduled for this Saturday, July 2 from 8:30-11:30 am at the Marriott Scout Service Center in Bethesda, MD. Short notice, we know, but we're hoping some of you will be available to come. Pack Lion Guides, District Lion Coordinators and anyone interested or involved with the new Lion Pilot are encouraged to attend. Please feel free to share this information.

The material will include the required training from the BSA along with information about the pilot that has been made available. Additionally, we will discuss what's happening specifically with the pilot in the NCAC. We hope that this in-person training will also provide an opportunity for networking among the leaders who will be involved in the Lion Pilot.

If you are able to attend, please contact William Mayo or Danielle Ballantine. There is no charge for the training.

The Scout Shop in the MSSC will be open on Saturday from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Additional training dates will be announced shortly.

Lions is an BSA experimental program for Kindergarten-age boys. Packs must apply to participate. Key requirements:
1) must follow the national program,
2) must have a Pack Lion Guide - an experienced Cub Scout leader who will mentor the Lion den. S/he will not be the Lion Den Leader, rather this will be done as a co-op among the Lion Adult Partners,
3) Lion Adult Partners, Pack Lions Guides, and Cubmasters will be asked to fill out assessment survey from BSA.
