Extraordinary Gaithersburg - Charles Ferrell

Gaithersburg resident Charles Ferrell was recognized at the October 5 Mayor and City Council meeting for receiving the 2015 Distinguished Public Service Award from the Health Physics Society. The award acknowledges service to the general public and outstanding contributions to the profession of health physics. Charles was the recipient of the 2004 Distinguished Citizen Award from the City of Gaithersburg, honoring him for his contributions to our community through his involvement in the Boy Scouts of America, the City's CHARACTER COUNTS! initiative and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees.

Charlie is a Silver Beaver, and has demonstrated a lifelong commitment to Scouting.  His two sons are Eagle Scouts.  He regularly serves as an Eagle Board Chairman.
